Ethiopian Art Centre UK

About Us

The aim of Ethiopian Art Centre UK (EACUK) is to bring together the Ethiopian community under one umbrella, to integrate the community to the wider communities and participate in everyday society social activities in every level, politics, business, art etc… through art.

We believe we can achieve this by training our community in four fields of the basics of art theory and production:

  1. To advise and support the community on production, post production, marketing and art in general.
  2. How to use video and still cameras in order to produce their own art work.
  3. The impact that art has on our society and an effective form of communication.
  4. Forum theatre that will help our community to have and develop a greater understanding of our social ideologies in depth.

We aim to work with every individual and organisation regardless there gender, disability, experience, to go further in their life and eliminate poverty.

Ethiopian Art centre UK (EACUK) is planning to build an art based education centre for Ethiopian young people to teach them theatre, photograph, film and video. To help us achieve this we need your support.

Deri Lamb and Bethan King are cousins. They left Wales on 18 October 2007 to bike around Spain for 8 months starting with a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in the north. They hope to raise money to set up an Ethiopian Arts Centre in Ethiopia (a sister to the one already established in London), which will provide art and photography courses free of charge to young Ethiopians.
